Transitioning
Today is Day 11 of Life with Two Kids. We are lucky in being able to say that we are surviving and feeling pretty good thus far! Andrew has been home this whole time (he'll return next Monday, which stresses me out completely!) and has been super helpful with household chores, Tyler duties and diaper changing. My main job has been resting, feeding Alivia and watching the Food Network, though I've tried to do at least one task each day, be it addressing thank-yous, putting clothes away, or running an errand with Andrew. Tyler goes to daycare Monday through Wednesday, so we have a quieter routine on those days. When he's home, Andrew does a great job finding an activity they can do together, which lately has been sledding. Tyler continues to be a terrific big brother - he loves kissing his sister and helping us with diaper changes, but we do have to remind him to be gentle around her!
Alivia is a great eater and sleeper. Her one-week checkup showed she gained back her birth weight, plus 5 ounces! She sleeps 4- to 6-hour stretches over night and rarely cries unless she's hungry. I know things with babies can change at the drop of a hat, but so far it seems as if we've been blessed with an easy tempered baby who enjoys her beauty rest. :-)
My goals for my maternity leave are simply to adjust to our new routine once Andrew heads back to work, prepare for our new-new routine when I return to work, and perhaps revisit my fondness for cooking while trying out new, healthier recipes for us to eat. Next week will be the first big transition since bringing Alivia home, so here's hoping we ease into it well and adjust smoothly!

Sounds like the 1st 11 days have been great! Alivia is simply beautiful :) I, too, was blessed with a great sleeper, maybe its a girl thing? Enjoy your sweet girl!
