13-month update

Here we are at 13 months! Things have been going very well with little Miss A, so our prayers have been full of praise lately. Here's Alivia's stats:

Weight: 19 pounds! Finally!! (11th percentile)

Height: 28.5 at last check. She seems to have grown out of her PJs and overalls, though, so I'm wondering if she's gotten a little taller lately. That or I'm shrinking a lot of laundry.

Milestones: No teeth yet - can you believe it? But despite that, she's eating SO well for her. There is still plenty she won't/can't eat, but we are slowly getting her to try new things. She also is now on whole milk, and she LOVES it! No more following her around with a cup trying to get her to drink like when she was on formula. It feels pretty liberating. On a minor downside, she was put on antibiotics for the first time today so her runny/gunky nose doesn't become a sinus infection. Can you believe, with all she's been through, that she hasn't ever needed an antibiotic before? Clearly our family's dedication to keeping her well - grandmas babysitting so she can stay out of daycare, everyone washing hands when coming home, etc. - is working.

Likes: shoes, escaping from her play area, dancing, necklaces, books. Foodwise, she likes yogurt, cheese, mandarin oranges, nilla wafers, applesauce and pudding. And if you blend up a pasta dish, she'll typically eat that well. And soup. She loves soup.

Dislikes: Sitting still, unless she's very tired. :-)

Alivia is talking more, but what she's saying often is a big guess! She seems to have words for Tyler, mom, dad, dog, cat, cheese, socks, no-no, uh-oh and a few others. She's at a VERY fun age, always learning something new each day.

It's been so wonderful to see Alivia feeling well, eating well and doing well overall. In a couple weeks, her doctor will look at her heart again via an echocardiogram. Our main prayer is that they don't see anything WORSE. And secondary, of course, would be a little improvement. But if it looks the same, we'll be OK with that and keep hoping things will change for the better sometime.
