Alivia moved off the ICU today to the "progressive care" unit for cardiac patients. It's far less intense, with far fewer wires attached to our baby, which means we get to hold her without it being a huge hassle! I actually carried her from her ICU room to her new room, and she took a nap with me in a chair for a bit as well. Everyone was here to help her settle in - all four grandparents, big brother and Aunt Gigi.
We'll stay here a few days and hope she continues to do well (and gain some weight). The IV med she was on stays in her system for quite some time, so we need to be sure she is doing well without it as it works its way out of her system. She's had a great day so far. Obviously, we hope this is a trend and she continues to keep doing better and better.
We have a lot to learn about managing her condition in these next few days so we can ensure she stays out of the hospital for a loooong time. Hopefully we'll have her home by the time we move into our new house Friday. I can't wait for her to enjoy her pretty, girly room that's awaiting her.
This is the best news I've heard all day! Hooray! continues healing vibes coming your way Alivia, P&PT for you all!
